About Nintendo Club

Club Nintendo is the name of a customer loyalty program, as well as multiple international publications from Nintendo. The loyalty program was discontinued in 2015 in the United States and was later replaced by the cross-platform My Nintendo program in 2016. Members signed up for the Club Nintendo program for free and were rewarded with points, sometimes referred to as star points or coins with the North American version using coins, based on activities which included the purchase and install of Nintendo game titles, participating in surveys, inviting others to become a Club Nintendo member or even simply visiting a web site. Coins could then be redeemed for a variety of rewards ranging from mobile wallpapers and ringtones to select game titles. My Nintendo, the subsequent program, operates in much the same way as the original Club Nintendo loyalty program. Customers are rewarded with points in the form of coins for their purchases and activities. Those coins are assigned to the account automatically on the completion of a qualifying action or purchase and then can be redeemed for a variety of rewards including toward the purchase of additional titles on the console, at a rate of 1 cent US per 1 coin on the Nintendo account. These accounts do not come with a recurring monthly fee for being a member and can be left inactive or cancelled at any time by the user. Since there is no charge for the membership, no refunds will be offered when cancelling. More information on how to contact Nintendo about fully closing your account can be found on this page to assist you in this cancellation process.
