How to delete your Baidu account

To remove the Baidu extension from your browser(s), use the following instructions.

Internet Explorer

Click "Start." Select "Settings," and then "Control Panel" and then "Add/Remove Programs."

Scroll to Baidu on the list of programs.

Click "Change/Remove."


Select "Tools" and then "Add-Ons" in the browser menu.

Select the "Extensions" tab.

Select the Baidu toolbar.

Click "Uninstall."


Click on "Applications" in the browser menu.

Scroll to "Toolbars" and click on Baidu.

Click twice on "Uninstall."

Enter the "Username and Password." Click "OK."


Right-click on the extensions bar.

Select "Uninstall."

Choose "Uninstall" again.


TIP good to know

Publicly visible text/images often aren't properly deleted even when you succeed in deleting an account. Try editing or deleting them manually before deleting the account itself. If you're unsure what happens to your tracks: this can be found mostly in the Terms of Service/Privacy Policy; otherwise you can always contact Baidu and ask personally. By the way, deletion requests don't necessarily mean your data will actually be deleted (e.g. due to legal obligations).
